Glad to hear you are alright. I've had a 18 wheeler blow a tire when I was about 20 ft behind it; I got peppered with rubber and it dinged up my fairngs but my face was good things to the helmet.

I was ridding in the mountains of western NC a couple of days ago going around a curve at a high speed (55mph...) and was hit in the faceshield by a green walnut; scared the s**t out of me, I almost lost it in the curve. Would have been a lot worse without the full face shield!

man, that's gnarly. this forum gives lots of lessons from reading rather than having to go through stuff yourself. i know i'll be a lot more cautious around big trucks now.

Same **** w/ me fall down. Knocked my face on the pavement. Head got a cut required 10 staples. Right cheek bone snaped in 4mm. Hit some nerves. It's been almost 4 months. My tibia and femur almost 100% heal but the face still nump. Helmet 100% from now on with me. And GOTTA BE A FULLFACE.

good post Ty [sm=icon_rock.gif]. i'm a firm believer that helmets and gear save lives. i'm kinda hypocrytical at times, but very seldom when i do ride to the store or the gym down the street. but city/highway/canyon riding full gear is a must. it definitely adds to the cool factor as well, especially when i pull up at a stoplight next to some cars in my matching Honda jacket and helmet with gold visor. overall helmet is a wise man's choice however you look at it.

what i don't get is how cruiser riders ride the highway (and i see them here all the time) with just shirts and sunglasses. and they don't even have windscreens at all. squids!

WOW, good that you are ok. Yea im glad they have the helmet law out here in california or else i would probably toy with this alot and end up not wanting to mess up my hair. I love my helmet a little more after reading this! Get better.
