I was in the same boat as you. I sold my 900RR and bought an o6 1000RR. You will NOT be sorry if you make the move. The handeling difference is unbelievable! The 1000 is smoother in every aspect - turns, accelerating, control at high speeds.

Did I mention the power difference? Oh, how beautiful that power band is! It honestly made my 900RR feel more like an overweight 600 (and I loved my 900RR).

To me, it felt more like I sit on top of the 1000 and it felt more like I sat in the 900. But once I got use to the difference, I wouldn't go back.

I now have a bike payment and I am trying to save up for a power commander. But it is all worth it. It didn't take long to become more comfortable on my 1000 than I ever was on my 900.

I don't like my 1000... I love it!

I too, was in the same boat. Sold my 96 900RR and purchased an 06 1000RR. While I don't really notice much of a speed difference between the two bikes (the 900 was heavily modified), the one thing I like the most is the fuel injection and the fact the my 900RR was used when I bought it, so I had to invest a lot of money in repairs. The 1000 was new and I don't have to deal with anyone elses problems.

Yes, buy the bike ONLY if you can afford it. With an extended warrenty, I paid about 11K out of the door for the blue and yellow bike I have now. I love it and while I had to take out a loan to get it, I certainly don't regret it.

Oh. . and one more thing. Before I bought the bike, I read a lot about how hot the seat get due to the under-tail exhaust routing. I have no idea if I just got lucky or not, but I've never had the problem.

I soldmy '98 ZX-9R in great condition and bought an '07 Respol. I like the CBR, but it's got issues. If I had to do it all over again, I'm not sure I would. It boils down to your financial situation and what you want out of the bike. If you generally take longer, moderately pacedrides you'll be better off with the 900RR. If your into track days, agressive sreet riding andlookin' sharp, the RRisdefinately a step up. The question is... Is it worth$8000 to upgrade?
