Default swingarm install

i plan on putting anouther swingarm on the bike but was just wondering how to keep the bike up in the air,i have a front stand and the back will not work when doing this.any ideas?the bike is a 04 1000

two straps from the rear pegs to a rafter or engine lift or whatever gonna keep it lifted. Or if you take off the lower fairing you can rest the bike on the frame.

i forgot about using the cherry picker im going try that.i just got this bike and it had been in a wreck or 2,i noticed one of the front forks is leaking is that a easy fix that can be done by someone that has never done it before? thanks for the reply

i just switched out the swingarm on my 1000. the hang the bike from the rafters think works great.

i have one of those pepboys motorcycle jacks that work great as well

i picked up the bike for 3000 and it needs some plastic, tires,fork seal,and a front rim.the back swingarm was scratched up so i was wanting to replace it.I havnt had a honda since my 2000 929,then 01 gsxr 1000,then to a 04 r1, and now this 04 1000.

how bad is it scratched? If not bad do some sanding and get it powdercoated

i just got a good one from ebay for$65with no scratches,the one on the bike now has the part where the rear spool goes onto brocken off.
