Default STILL TRANNY PROBLEM ????HELP????

So while the bike was in for the 16k mile service i told them about the tranny problem. " while shifting from 4th to 5th (some times) get a false nutral (mis shift) it has done it sence i bought it used with 5200 miles on it. mechanic sais may be a bent shift fork. i told them i would spend the money to have them pull out the cassette type tranny and look at it. calls me a week later and says he rode it and could not duplicate the issue and i would be wasting my money to have them pull it out. so i didn't. i personaly think they didn't have the skill or ***** to pull the tranny out. if i was the mechanic and knew how, i would have done it even if i thought there was nothing wrong if the customer wanted to pay for it. (MONEY) it was like 4.5 hours of labor. i havent called any other dealers yet but i intend to. any thoughts?

Read up in a service manual. Maybe you can drop it yourself if you have stands and send it to a tranny shop.

I believe there is a link on this site for manuals. Seriously, if you work on helicopters, you won't have a problem following a manual on a bike. It will actually be easier.

Hey I have an 06 don't know if there the same but I have a shift fork. I put rear set on my bike so nothing wrong with it. Also I would be riding the bike with a bent shift fork that's a easy fix. Get that **** fit before you run into more problems.

i just had some of the same issues that you did and the first thing that i would check is the actual shifting lever if you take off the cover you will find a part of the shift drum and the fort type deal that turns the shift drum and the forks on that could be worn down you will see little indentations on it instead of it being pointed, and if thats not it i would check the shift drum the grooves on it could be worn and causing the shift forks to fall after you put it into the next gear hope this might help i just did my tranny and saves a butt load of money ........hope this helps

Read the mainenance manual and looks like you need a bunch of special tools to remove the cluch basket and other parts. i think i will wait until winter and pay the stealership to do it. It didn't mish shift all day today. And just to let you know. there are only a hand full of moving parts in a turbine engine. hundreds in a piston engine.
