Speedometer Error Question
Just road my 04 CBR1000rr back from Rome, NY (to Kunkletown, PA) some 225 miles yesterday.
A couple of things to note.
1) Front tire is wearing in the center of the tread. Didn't notice wear on the rear.
2) Sargent seat was a great investment.
3) Can't wait to get my Helibars on bike.
4) Can't wait to get lower rearsets.
5) My Speedometer is off by 8-10 mph at highway speeds.
When I thought I was doing 70 my brother, who was following me said I was doing like 60-61. When I was doing 63 I was actually doing 58 on one of those radar things in the construction zone I went though. When I followed him at what my speedometer said was 80 he said it was 70.
The speedometer recall was done before I bought the bike so I am at a loss. If I buy the speedohealer will that fix the problem?
How do I get the correct ratio to change it to? My truck speedo may be off too.
Would the speedometer being off affect my odometer at all?
By the way I went 145.5 miles on 3.096 gallons (~47mpg) at my fill up but need to know if that was an acurate mileage since the speedometer was off?

I didn't even think of checking my tire pressure. I just upped the pressure last month while it was still cold so I figured it was still ok.
I was in such a hurry to leave NY I forgot to check the pressure. It could now be high because of the warmer temps. Now that I saw it in daylight the center of the tires don't look as warn as I thought. I just wore the dirt and dust off the center of the tread. So far just over 1600 miles and the tires are still fine. I still have plenty of tread left on my stock bridgestones.
I was in a good mood because I didn't need to bleed my clutch. I pumped it up last time I was in NY and twist tied my clutch handle to the clip on.
It works just fine now but is still very soft. The gears just slide right in with only a minimal clunk going into 1st if I put it in gearat a stop.
I just got new plates for PA so will have it blead when it goes in for inspection.
I was ok today and had it out again. But my wrists are still hurting at the base of the thumb and first finger.
