Actually I believe you have it backwards. A felony is the one you get jail time for, is the misdemeanor that you usually just pay a fine for. And in your state of Minnesota it is a felony to steal anything over $250. This felony could land someone not only a rather large fine but also STATE PRISON time. On the other hand Pety Larceny which is the misdemeanor would only land you a fine or if they really hate you a night in the local jail.

 

There are a lot of bad drivers out there for sure. I've had my fair share for sure. Still, it is best to just let it go in that situation. Not trying to lecture you, but be the mature one and let the immature one continue to be a fool. As it is clear he is a dumbass, you never know what he might pull after you knock off his mirror.
