Default So here's my deal

So I had a 2007 yamaha r6, but It got stolen from my college parking lot. yea gay as hell I couldn't believe it mysef. anyways I'm getting a new bike no matter what since riding is what I love most. I always loved the cbr's and honda was my first dirt bike at age 7 (now 20 years old). The r6 was my second bike and I'm not a noob rider. I'm just wondering If leaping from a couple of 600's to a 1000cc bikewould be a moron idea. I've only ridden 600's and they're fast as hell, but the 08 1000rr is just too sexy to pass up. The R6 was ok, but as everyone knows the low end power just blows, and if I could goback I probably would have bought something different, even though it is a sexy looking bike. So anyways 08 1000rr or an 08 600rr? Will a 1000 be overwelming or ok for someonewho isn't looking to purchase anything else for a long time. I just don't want to buy another 600 and regret it when I get the chance tofinally ride something bigger than a 600cc bike.any input is greatly appreciated. thnx

The R6 is by far the worst 600 sportbike for low end power. Yamaha spent all of its time making this bike for the track first. Its streetability is lacking in that department. The 600RR is probably the best 600 for low end power and street drivability. But........ I'm not sure its going to get you the low end power you want.

You should be fine with a 1000. But, If all aspects of your 600 were great aside from the low end, you might want to consider something like a 848 Ducati. They are light, low end power is good and they run about 115hp at the rear wheel and around 60 ftlbs of torque. They are very pricy, but they are sexy.

A 750 might be ok too... but for the price of them, might as well get liter bike.

Also, being 20, might want to check insurance rates. Insurance gets pretty high with some companies once you exceed the 600cc mark.
