Default Smog Block-Off

Hey People, How's it goin? Hey has anyone taken off the smog junk on a 07 CBR1000? I attempted to do it a few days ago and then chickened out when I got to the point I had to take the air duct out. I was kinda worried about not being able to hook the bottom throttle cable back up without a lot of difficulty, so I put the airbox back on. was I worried for nothing or what? also, is it even worth it other than losing what...a pound? I would like to get rid of it though especially if it's really not needed. maybe I'll give it another shot anyways. it's not like I'm going to be riding any time soon with this dam snow all ova the place! just wondering if it's worth it?

FWIW... I disabled the intake flapper and PAIR systems on my bike and didn't notice any performance increases.

Did you have any problems taking the PAIR out? I would think the biggest issue was the throttle cables right? from what my buddy tells me, it pretty much does nothing but stop the popping when you shut the throttle at high revs. and you'll get a better reading with the A/F mixture if you decide to DYNO it, or something like that. thanks for the response

No throttle cables, just some hoses and an electrical connector I think.

You didnt have to take the air duck out to get to the hoses on the valves and all that other junk?

Yes,I havean '07. To access the PAIR valve and hoses I took off the top and center sections of the airbox. The bottom section (the part that contains theintake flapper)remained in place. I had to remove the secondary fuel rail and injectors when I took the upper sections of theairbox off, which is pretty easy. As for the throttle cables, I don't recall having to disconnect them or do anything special to get the airbox sections out.
