No cuts are great! Shogun makes a great product and you can call thier vendor Moto911.com @ 949-453-9111 Ext: 103 and talk with Paul. He walked me through the install. You remove both left and right fairings, remove the top motor mount bolts-Use their supplied bolts, Long bolt and short slider on "right" throttle side of bike and short bolt long slidder on left "clutch" side of bike. Be sure to use supplied spacers to pull fairings out a little when re-installing both farings on the "bracketed" bolts and use thier fairing bolts instead of the ones that came on the bike. They are longer so the spacers can be used.

P.S. the link from MgA_ODEN shows a problem if the bike is dropped "denting or bending" a cooling elbow and stating that the motor has to be "dropped" for it to be replaced, well my 06 slider installation let me position the "shoguns" out of harms way if droppedso as not to dent, crease, or crack the "water-elbow". I think the pic. in this link is of a older cbr1000 (04-05), the fairingsare different on those modelsthan the 06's/
