Shogun Frame Sliders
I just got my crash kit with the no-cut frame sliders in yesterday, any of you guys have any pics of where you mounted yours? I want to make sure I do this right. A lot of you guys have some really great customizations, and here I am just starting. Thanks for the help
i hate to say this but i highly suggest that you sell the sho guns to someone else
they are great for the 600 but for the 1000 they cause more harm than good if the bike goes over.
the bracket is too thin on the left hand side and if the bike goes over the slider will bend and crush the water neck going into the pump.
this requires the engine to be removed to replace a 20 dollar water neck. the average cost of every one that has had this happen is well of the 1K dollar range
more details at http://www.hooliganbiketech.net/hond...frameindex.htm along with pictures of installation of the sliders

It depends on what year you got.

id rather be safe than sorry
once something gets a bad rep as a crappy product its hard to come back from that
besides frame sliders bend, even the picture on the thread you posted was bent
if that were on the left side where the water neck is the owner would have already had to drop the engine by now
the left side shogun sits right on the water neck, even a parking lot tip over will cost you 1500 bucks
buy them if you want, id rather spend the money and cut the fairings (a good job looks oem anyway) and save the 1500 for suspension upgrades
oh wait, i already did

I had the no cut shogun frame sliders and after hearing all the smack about them I bought the Vortex frame sliders. It was worth the switch to find a product that will really do what it should and protect the bike.
I recall this subject coming up before. I thought I had a link to the other type of no cut sliders that had supporting mounts to prevent damage to the engine, but I can't find the link anymore. Anyone here have a link availablefor me?
I have the Shogun sliders on and they seem like a quality product. The offset bar is 5/8" thick aluminum. If you crash or highside it hard enough to bend thatover withthe slider, well, you've got bigger things to worry about than a water neck snapping.
The 04-05 Honda CBR1000RR = Shogun No-Cut could be bad
The 06-07 Honda CBR1000RR = Shogun No-Cut work great ( The water elbow is relocated )
PLEASE NOTE: Framesliders are designed to prevent your Frame from Sliding - THATS ALL!
THEY ARE NOT A CRASH PREVENTION!
