I just bought the shogun no cut frame sliders last week for my 07 cbr1000, I put them on no complaints but I forgot to tighten the left puck, sure enough my friend came over and we all went riding, when I returned home the left puck flew offand so did the bolt. Where can I find replacement puck for the shogun sliders? I was thinking about buying vortex pucks just wondering if they will fit or if theres any suggestion.....thanks

 

I'm curious as to how much you paid for them, and where?

 

reconsider the shoguns for the 1000rr
there are a lot of cases where on a tipover or low side to the left of the bike
the shogun busts the water neck going into the water pump

you then have to drop the engine to replace it
check out hooliganbiketech.net and look for shogun sliders

I read that article and I think that I'm gonna go with Vortex. I'd rather not drill a hole, but it seems like a better way to go for protection.

 

omg more of this - search for this topic and you will see that the 04-05 CBR1000RR had problems with the shoguns
but the 06-07 CBR1000RR's are fixed. You will find a long thread about this where I post alots of info about it!

 

I am in the process of installing my Shogun crash kit and looking for some info/help. I did a few searches but could not find info as you stated. Can you point me tothe discussions pertaining to 07 installs?

Ihave found that Ican rotate the left slider counter clockwise and it will clear the water fitting okay (in fact you have to because if you don't it actually touches the fitting and won't fit), but it sticks out far enough that it hits the lip of the faring and the faring won't go flush. Look like it's going to take a little trimming. Wanted to find out what others with2007 installs were running into with this???

 

Thats crazy the same exact thing happen to the ones i have, went riding came back home left puck was gone! 89 bucks down the hole!

 

That's what Loctite is for! I use it on most things that will vibrate off. Just make sure you DON'T use the permanent (red) kind!
