Default rr vs vfr

Hey Guys!

I am about to get my next bike. Im stepping up from a 1999 CBR600F4. I am torn between a vfr and a 1000rr. I know they are two completely different machines. My biggest dilema is that i would love to take the bike cross country. I know the stock VFR has a bigger windscreen and many factors that would make it more comfortable. If i would get a 1k I would make it as comfortable as possible (seat, db windscreen, helibars). I am wondering if anyone on this site has owned both bikes and could give me some advice. Could the 1k be a sport touring bike similar to the VFR? Or am i best to go with the VFR? Keep in mind I dont want to be bored with the bike... I do like the power in 1st and 2nd of the f4, but would like more midrange in higher gears. I love the advice from these boards so i figure this place is my best bet. Thanks alot guys!

If you get a good seat and Helibars, a 1000rr will feel almost as comfortable, but will perform so much better. Not taking away from the VFR....It's a beautifully smooth, easy bike to ride.

I havea 2001 vfr and a 2006 cbr 1000rr and like riding both bikes. The vfr ismore comfortable to ride for along distanceand you can still have fun, but if you're looking for just performance, the 1000rr is the way to go.

VFR more comfortable to ride of course... I think way better to cross country with. Unless you want to do it real fast then i recommend the 1k RR...

peace...
