I just bought an '06 CBR 1000 and I am in love with this machine. I had a CBR 600RR for two seasons before getting the liter as well as putting miles on an old F2 for a season. So far, it is quite easy to move around and it goes into corners with just a thought, like my 600RR did. It feels a little bulky compared to the smaller bike but it still feels good. I can see taking the MSF course and getting the 1000 if you have alot of respect for the bike. Right now I'm staying in 2nd gear, for the most part until I break the rear tire in. I had to ride it home in cold weather with a new tire but I did not feel it slip once. You must be precise with the throttle, which only comes with practice so I can see why people say not to start out on the bigger bike.

McCone33Why did you stay in 2nd? How fast did you ride home? I guess what I'm trying too say is yes when the road is cold take your time also with the new tires. But do you want the tire to stay new I mean you got to get it some what hot to wear it in.

I have been riding for quite a few years, but my 600RR is my first sportbike. I am glad I got he 600 as my first. The level of capabiliy of the 600is so different from what I am used to, the xtra ponies just could have complicated things. Not saying I wouldn't want a 1k someday though.

F4 huh.....? WOW, I'm glad you're happy with a 600.....However I'm 37, been riding since I was 8 on dirt bikes, when I bought my first street bike (88' FZ 600), I loved it but I wanted something faster after like a month....That's just me.....
If i want something FAST ,i drive my car(it has the safety equipment in case something happens)..Which can keep up with a good bit of bikes(750 and higher).

But don’t confuse that with believing anything you do is okay with owning a liter bike. What do you call someone who bounces their bike through the corners like a rodeo bull rider and then cranks it up to a buck fifty on the straight to prove he’s got the right stuff? Idiot is the word that comes to my mind “any moron can pull the trigger when the bike is pointed in a straight line-and will.” Your grandmother could crank out a 160mph flyby on a ZX14 so you’re not impressing anyone. Save your stuff for the curves.

Also compairing a 54hp(engine hp) fz 600 to a 94rwhp(at the tire) f4i is to totally different beasts.

I aint worried I see 1k get their asses handed to them every week on the mountian. They can ride a 75mph wheelie but look like two monkeys phuqing a football in the twisties.

Not to mention I seen the F4/i rated higher than that at the wheel lol

Oh and I will add this since it keeps disappearing. Only fools start out on 1k's.
i resent that man. lol

i use my 1000rr for both street and track duty. and i can handle my own out there.
