OKay...Okay... You like your 600 that's great....you're probably a pretty good rider as well. I was only making an analogy regarding my experience riding 600's, I used to catch up or blow people away in the corners too. I prefer the 1000 and ride better and faster as well as safer on it! Your post reads as though anyone riding a 1000 can't ride. I betthe vortex frame sliders, Zero gravity touring windscreen, hvmp bar ends, BootLeg CF 14" slip-on, Tankslapper total bike kit, HID 6000k headlights really help out your Horsepower on your 600.....your bikesounds SICK!![:'(]

Never said you can not ride. But you can not ride any safer on a 1k than on a 600..DIdnt do the other mods to make it fast just make the ride better..I ride a lot at night and the stock lighting (liter or other wise SUCK)so thats where the HID's come in at ,sliders for the OOPS day (hope to save some of the bike if it ever happens lol),shield because unlike most i RIDE mine(6k in a little over 2 months)and its better than laying down all the time to keep the wind off me,and the barends to take away some of the vibrations that the f4i is known for.
The slip on_ mainly because it looks way better than the stock can the bike comes with..

Plus the bike isnt my toy this is[:-]:

I know some people that can ride anything you sit them on. I have no issues with 1 k riders that progressed up to it. I have no respect at all for those who thought they were bike gods n couldnt be caught on anything lesser than a 1k and can be out rode by a chick on a 250R. Tho alot of us can be outridden by some of the chicks I seen on 250's lol. My point is a 1k is in no way shape form or fashion a bike for any n00b to sit his tush on. Hell not even a 600 really but you cant tell people that with their big massive egos.

lol people that bitch about liter bikes are funny. seriously if you have ridden a 1k for a while 600s feel like wimpy crf 450 as seen in my profile. I'm sure they corner good but there low end power is like my lawnmower. I like my 150 hp and 80 ft lbs of torque rather than 105/54.. my harley almost had those stats..

I agree that a new rider shouldn't start on a 1000. The 600's are very balanced bikes. I admit that I am buying a 1000 because of the torque, but the handling characteristics of the past 600's I have owned were great. To each their own I suppose.

This subject comes up over and over again. It all depends on the rider, knowing their limts and putting safety first.

I started out on an 06CBR 1000 straight out of the MSP class. I had never been on motorcycle until theclass. So I was about as new as you can be, and I still am in many ways. But I take my time, let the challengers have their say about racing (we are not on a track anyway), and I have enjoyed every moment of it.

The 06 1000 is an easy bike to ride (in my opinion). Sure, I am in no way pushing the bike to its limits, and a 600 or 250 can also get me from A toB, but I like the 1000 and that's why I bought it. I am not into racing (or else I would go to a track), but I like the way the bike handles and look is awesome. Maybe too awesome, my first one was stolen within 6 weeks, and that has been my worst experience to date. However, I got thesame one again, learned my lesson about where I leave it, and I have been loving the ride since then.

Whatever you choose, know your limit, be safe at all cost. But get what you feel most comfortable with. The dealer me let sit on the bikes for weeks (alomst an hour at a time). The 600 or the 1000. The 600 or the 1000. He said, "I can't tell you which one to get, but I know if you get the 600, in 2 years you will be back for the 1000. But if you get the 1000, you will never come back for the 600. I got the 1000, it's been two years....and I haven't gone back for the 600. Although the 08 600s do look waybetter than the disappointing 08 1000s. Just my opinion, but that's what these boards are for anyway.

Ride Safe Folks.
