Default Repsol question ?

Has anyone had problems with the paint rubbin off when cleaning the rims ? Everytime I clean the chain lube and grime off my rims, the rag I use gets an orange tint to it...[] It doesn`t matter what cleaner I use (lysol kitchen cleaner, simple green, ect.) it always lifts some color. Does anyone have input or ideas ? Maybe a chain lube that isn`t so hard to get off ? ( I have used pro honda and currently using motorex with teflon)

I use Honda Cleaner in the spray can or regular car wax for hard-to-get-off crap on wheels or whatever.

I use WD-40 on a sponge to clean the oil of the rear wheel, then wash with normal cleaner i clean the restof the bike with. Buit my wheels are black so i wouldn`t notice. [:@]

No not at all, the sponge tends to hold most of the oil so your just left with a small amount to wash off, comes off really easy with the washing detergent.

I just use 80W oil to lube the chain. Washes off with soap and water. A bit of honda polish (love that stuff) gets the rims sparkly.

one thing that i do is wax my wheels. not with the newer liquid wax, but the old sytle turtle wax brand paste wax. gives them a hard, slick finish that crap doesn't stick to as well. much easier to clean. i use just about any degreaser cleaner to clean the wheels when i wash the bike. spray it on and let it sit for a while. alot less scrubbing required.

I waxed my rims the first day I got my repsol and they just look new all the time. I run a detail shop so I was my bike 4 days out of 7
