# of repsol ?
Been wondering that myself. I haven't found any OFFICIAL numbers, though I've heard it was 850, 500 STATESIDE. I BELIEVE the last three digits of the vin indicate the number of your particular bike, I'm not positive about that though. Maybe one these more speerienced posters know of something.
I've heard 1500 or so, and 800+ stateside, but no real data to substantiate this as well. I have #836 so maybe mines a copy...[&:] Doubtful since I've been next to a sub 500 series - no difference. You only need the fairings and wheel paint it seems... Anyone, anyone, Bueller...?[>:]
Funny, I bought my bike new in May '05, never paid attention to the numbers 'til now. Mine is 725, I think, so maybe there is something to that 800 plus stateside. I know that mine is authentic 'cause I had to order the extra decal kit that comes with bike, 'cause mine were destroyed in a basement flood, and when I ordered them I had to provide my VIN because they are a controlled order part from HONDA, can't get them without a genuine VIN, or know someone that has one.
I don`t know on the numbers, but i tried to price up a full set of fairings from my local dealer to see just how `limited` they are. The response... full set of all plastics £1470 thats the same as what they quoted me for the replacement black/silver i have now.
Limited my ***!!
Limited my ***!!
With that said Anubis,
It gets better than that if they really were limited. Just check out the Blue Book Value sometime - price difference is over $1000.00 vs standard coloring. This is interesting with your ability of acquiring the plastics. If they're the same price it ain't a bad idea to get a Repsol replacement set if anyone trashes their own and are about to sell their baby. Value is considerably more it seems if you have to swap plastics.... just a thought since the bikes are identical anyway!
30 Dec 05 Kelley Blue Book Retail... 1500 Central.
05 CBR 1000RR - $8760.00
05 CBR 1000RR Repsol Edition - $9770.00
