Default Recent mods quick question!!

Just recently upgraded to the 06 1000rr and put in flush mounts on. Everything works fine but my dash display always has the turn indicator lights on even while riding. They flash when needed but are just steady the rest of the time. Is that normal or did I do something wrong when installing the flush mounts?

I did the same thing on Sat.

What I did is wired the red(positive) wire on the flushmount to both (either blue or orange) wires from the wiring harness. On the right, the blue with a white line on it is the "running light" wire. Same for the left side, except they're orange. You'll have to keep that out of the splice. The bad news is that you won't have running lights on the front flushmounts. No biggie.

It's either that, or, from what I've heard, you might need to put in some resisters because the LED's aren't pulling all that power.

Someone let me know if I'm wrong on any of this. I am a NOOB.

That makes sense cause when I was trying to figure out which wires were which on the install. I originally had it hooked up for just the blinker and not the running lights. Dont know if I feel like taking apart the bike again to just get the lights off my dash. No biggie I guess thanks for info though.

Yeah, if it still blinks properly and everything works, but the light stays on on your dash, it is because you wired the running light wire from the bike to the positive wire on the light, since they only have 2 wires on the light. I dont use my runnjing lights. With flushmounts you really cant see them anyway

Well, the problem with that is, it probably is not just your instruments that are showing solid turn signals. If you did like I did and wired the running light wire in with your turn signal wire, your tail blinkers will be on constantly.\

Turn your key to the on switch and step back to the rear. If your back signals are solid without the turn signals on, and you want to go to an integrated tail/signal, you will have to remove the "running light wire" from the splice up front. Because, your tail running lights will be solid orange.

Let me know if that doesn't make any sense.

It makes sense, but mine didnt stay on when I did it, but I just truncated the wire, so, I dont have running lights.

Yeah my taillights are on constantly as well, I didnt think that was because of the wiring for the front signals. Might have to change it up then. Are intergrated taillamps hard to install? Just got the part wondering what I have to do to put them in!!

Integrated tail is a plug in and play and then a few spliced wires.
