power commander question
hey , I have a 06 1000 rr and i was wondering if i go with a power commander without putting any exhaust on will i still reap any benefits from it. I like the sound and quietness of my stock exhaust but wondered if just the power commander alone would help in anyway with my performance. thanks thobak

RE: power commander question
A tough question for me too. I bought and installed one for my 06 and I still have the stock exhaust. I bought it because it did make a difference on my 05 600RR. I can't really say I noticed a difference right away because I'm still in the break in period on my 06 and haven't had the RPM's over 9000K. Once I do I will be playing with the PC zero setting and comparing it to the OEM pipe setting to see what I get out of it. Then I will change the map to an Arata slip on pipe set up once I get one. Then finally when I can afford it I will take the bike to a dyno to get the map customized. All that in the name of fun for me. [8D]

RE: power commander question
I suppose it depends on how good the standard setup is. I live at 1600m above sea level and most new vehicles are setup for sea level so I need to dyno tune my cars and bikes to get optimum performance. I think the PC is only necessary when you change components on the bike that go beyond what can be dyno tuned on the bikes standard management system
