All of the liter bikes are so close in performance, that it really boils down to what you like. It's the same for the 600's as well. I personally think the 04 & 05 Kawasaki 10R, the 1000RR, and the Yamaha R1 are beautiful bikes. The 06 & 07 10R is ugly as hell and I'm not liking the Suzuki liter bike with the cheap feeling rear tail and the whiffle ball bat exhaust. The rider is 99.9% of the deciding factor of who is going to be the fastest.

I've ridden a zx 10 and a new gsxr 1000, seat of the pants power feels close on all of them however I wish my cbr had the gsxr suspension. The stock honda suspension sucks. It's great if you set it up for riding slow, but way to stiff when set up for riding fast. My corner speeds were much faster on my friends gsxr than my own (set up for me at the track) cbr.

Don't get me wrong, the honda tracks well and seems more stable at speed, but it beats the crap out of me over the bumps.

I choose Honda due to the fact I had a CBR1100XX. I bought it brand new in 1998 and sold it Sep of 2005. I had the hardest 81, 000 plus miles on that bike ever. All I did was change the oil and regular services and that bike rode like a charm. I also had it custom painted and at the time Two brothers were making full systems so I bought headers and 4-2-1. So of course I am going to stick with honda again. Now I have a 05 Red/Black 1000rr with Jardine RT-One race slip-on. I had it since Oct of 05 and already have 13,000 miles on it. I am going to try to break my other record of 81. Hopefully I can although that stock seat SUCKS!!!!!

I have an 06 1000rr and two of the guys I ride with have 05 R1's All I can say is that they all fly every time we line up, it's who ever gets the jump gets the win. They claim the 1000rr is the slowest. but thats only in back to back time runs against a stop watch. With pros riding them. With your average street pilot riding them it's like I said it's in who hits the throtle first. I'm 38 yrs. old and been riding for over 20yrs, and have riden alot of different bikes, and this has to be the sweetest running bike I've ever riden. So what if someone timed it a couple tenths slower the another bike you'll never notice it, because there aren't too many Rossi's out there, that are able to man handle one of these machines to it full potential.
