Hey I totally feel ya. I layed my 07 CBR 1000 down up here in the ga mountains because of those "share the roads" bicyclist riding in the middle of the road when I came around a corner on the backside of a mountain... Anywho, I droped like $1K on replacing the Upper, Middle, Lower and Seat cowls that I got from http://www.hidyhondapowersports.com/default.asp. I bidded on a ebay fairing set, but got F*cked and it was never shipped. But I did ebay the new clutch lever, stator cover and actually got a bad azz set of carbon fiber mirrors that are shorter and more sleek looking made jut for the CBR 1K. I know that buying from Honda is expensive, but you'll get better quality material that wont warp or risk additional work drilling holes or having the paint chip in a few weeks. Hope that helps out some!

i went down on christmas eve last year. was going to take a ride and charge the battery and a lady runs a stop sign and i had no where to go. still hurts at 35 mph, but i hated to put a scratch on the bike. i got a little rash on my hand and a nice scar on my forearm but nothing major. busted turn signal and minimum damage on plastic. hope you feel better. i hated to scrath that bike. anybody know a good paint and bodyshop in southern cali that does good work. i live in anaheim.

Sorry to hear about your incident. I am in the process of repairing my bike right nowdue to some gravel and a gaurd rail.

To answer your question about interchangable between 04/05 to 06/07 plastics. Yes, but there is some minor mod's you have to do. One is relocating your overflow bottle and ECU location. Other than that, its just a few minor tweeks here and there. I was going to do it myself, but found a killer deal on a new set of plastics.

If you just looking for some replacement panels, go to 1000rr.net. The guys over there are always selling plastics, you might get lucky and find what your looking for. Along with any other parts your looking for. Alot of racer's who take off their OEM plastics and put on race skins, so there is always someone selling plastics there.

Good luck with everything, and welcome to the forum.

Yeah that sucks dude. I just did the same thing Saturday, but it was gravel. Pisses me off[:@]. Check out ebay, and you can get a full set of fairing that look bad *** for about 600 bucks shipped. I put a post up and pic of the fairings in this area 2 days ago. Let us know how everything goes with fixing her up!

Default Gravel...

There is alot of gravel around these parts and when I see a patch, I lean into the turn and coast though, without any throttle at all. Usually I can find a way around it, for the most part. Out in the sticks, where I do all of my riding, dead animals in the road will end you, or a very alive deer. Damn, I need to go to a track...
