Oil preference?
Definitely doesn't have to be motorcycle specific oils, but not all non "motorcycle branded" oils are good to go.
if it says energy conserving the clutch will slip, and its extremely annoying and even more annoying to get it to stop after changing the oil out
unfortunately i made that mistake and still am paying for it

U definitely shouldnt be using CAR oil in your bikes... the clutch is wet on a bike. Use Honda GN4 only, and i wouldnt use Synth either, its not great for the clutch. Good look with your clutches to those running car oil in their motorcycle....
That's not true at all. Synthetic oil is 100% safe. It's the "energy conserving" oils that cause clutch slippage, and basically require you to replace the friction disks to remedy it.
I can't speak to the 1krr specifically, but I personally use the Rotella T full synthetic 5w40 with excellent results in my F3, and so do many others on this forum . I don't know of any reason the 1k would be any different and I would imagine it's a great oil to use, but I'm not 100% sure if there are any engine differences that might call for a different weight oil and I don't want to steer you wrong. I will say again, though, that this oil will NOT harm your clutch.
