Default Oil preference?

Curious to know what brand oil are you guys using for your engine. Is there a certain number quality you prefer? Any difference in how the gears shift? Thanks

The dealer was out of GN4 so i got some Castrol Act-Evo 4T 10w30 from cycle gear. Seems to work fine it difinitely quieted the bike down.

GN4 in my 08. I don't want them giving me any warranty excuses.

GN4 for both bikes. That's all I use.

And of course they shift better.

Same here. I have the 4-year extended warranty and I'm going to use genuine Honda oil and filters and save all receipts. I found the GN4 on Amazon for $58 per case and OEM filters elsewhere for $7.25. Local dealer wants $11.99/ea for the same filters.

Castrol GTX is what I use in mine. it was half a quart low at the 600 mile oil change. and now at 2300 miles it is still full..

Valvoline 10w40 $4/quart at your local Schucks. I change it every 2000 miles and have never had any troubles. As often as most people change the oil in their sportbikes it is tough to justify $8-10/quart full synthetic. I don't feel the extra cost is worth it when changing it so often.

Doesn't it have to be a specific oil designed for use in motorcycles as far as the clutch and things go?
