Oil filters...
I have been using the honda oil filter on my 07 1k, but was considering switching to the K+N wrench offs. are the k+n oil filters any better then what honda has to offer? I am switching to honda 10w40 synthetic oil for my next change and will stick with that oil as it is bad to switch back and forth...
Thanks

stay with stock filter .. works best ... kn filter on this bike is restrictive like the air filters are as well (both SUCK)
i run repsol sintetico (mix of conventional and sythetic in my street bikes (20-50) and 20-50 full synthetic on my track bike
no issues and actually feel it shifts cleaner and runs better .

I use the Mobil 1 M1-108 filter on the f4i stuntbike and the 07 1KRR. I also run Mobil 1 Extended Performance in both of em. Im on the 1000rr.net site and have read into the testing done on these filters and oil and by far kills "Honda" oil and filters, not to mention both my bikes run top notch with these and thats coming from Repsol 4T so I dunno, I know Im sold

I know this is about an '07 but if you have a Honda warranty they will NOT honour it if you don't use their filter and something goes wrong with the engine! As for oil; as far as I know Honda don't make oil, they put their name on someone else's and charge more. There are plenty of companies that make oil for a living and know what they are doing - for less money. (I'm not saying 'Honda' oil isn't excellent, I'm sure it is but so are a lot of other oils)
BTW Wal-Mart sell Mobil 1 4T Racing which is more than good enough; and everyone knows how cheap they are!
