Default New & quick question (please)

Hi, new to the forum, and the CBR. Just traded my Yamaha FZ6 for a CBR 1000rr 2008 (leftover). Hello!!!! Seems like a great forum! One quick question......just so I donlt sound like a total newb, is there a simple standard gas gauge? LOL.....having trouble getting pics up, is that normal.

Cheers to all of you, happy to be in my CBR!!!!!

I use a combination of the trip meter and low fuel light. After a few tanks you will get an idea how far you can go on a tank of fuel before the light comes on.

pffft....I think this was a problem on the first few bikes, and even then I think this is overstated.

I've had my 2008 for a year, and haven't had any such issues.

Still a good thing to keep in mind for a new owner. How many people would think to check the oil every few hundred miles on a brand new bike?

To OP: Welcome, and be careful on that thing! Its in a whole world of difference from the FZ6, hey?

Default Love at first sight

You will love the 08 1krr. I love mine. mine was a half a quart low at the 600 mile oil change. But since I did the oil change using Castrol GTX 10w40 oil it has not used any granted I still only have 1500 miles on her so far.

No oil burning issues for me. Tires on the other hand wear out at an alarming rate.

it is not just the first few bikes and it has not been overstated. i now have 6700 miles on mine now and it continues to burn oil at a significant pace. in my opinion it shouldnt burn any but i have to continually add oil between services or will simply go dry.
