New Fender Eliminator
I was having a hard time deciding which fender eliminator to buy. Most of the ones that I liked were too expensive, so I decided to make one myself. Due to the problems that I seem to have with the local PD and the US Customs officials at the border I wanted to make sure that the rear plate was adequately lit. After inspecting the stock light I figured out that the spacer could be removed between the fender and the light and reattached to the original location. In order to do this a new mount for the plate would be required. I took a few measurements with the stock fender removed and then created a drawing for the new bracket at work. I found a piece of .060" aluminum plate in our tool room and had one of the toolmakers make the new bracket along with a plate to reinforce the inside of the existing fender. The first attempt turned out pretty well but still needs a few touchups. I polished the bracket but I think I am leaning towards painting it black to blend in a little better.

Here it is painted black with better mounting bolts. I need to see if I have any more material at work before I can determine how long it will take to make another one.
