My 1000RR impressions so far
So, had the 07 RR for about a month now, and (like I have to tell you all) it's awesome! Still riding sane and cautious and not letting myself get too over confident or comfortable...there's still some fear after what happened last fall, I won't lie.
Yesterday and today I went on about 90-100 mile rides trying to get better aquainted. Started running it harder, but don't really want to do that too much. I like taking it easy and enjoying myself rather than being a menace on two wheels
HESD: cool as hell. Felt it kick in yesterday after some minor headshake. Came up on a slight ridge on the road, a little uphill then immediately back down. In 3rd ~45-50 and rolled on going up to the crest. At the crest, sure as poop is brown, the front lifted smoothly and confidently. Set it back down by rolling off a little then back on just before touching to smooth the landing. Wiggle-Wiggle...done. Must have set it down slightly off of straight. No violent shaking, just a little wiggle then back to business.
SUSPENSION: Dialed it in a little harder than before. Now it's nice and firm. Unfortunately, while going over asphault patches that are rough, I get bounced out of the seat a little. Not sure if the back end is lifting or not. Have to keep an eye out for sucky paving jobs. Other than that the cornering is nice and tight.
ENGINE: Talk dirty to me! Took it nice and easy to redline in 1st on a straight stretch (no cars around, I'm no squid). I have been keeping it under 8k previously, and of course going easy during break in. I was surprised to see that I was about ~84 mph at redline in 1st. Wow, breaking the speed limit in first gear
TRANNY: Smooth as silk up high in the revs, but notchy down low. Sometimes, if I'm not giving it enough authority, it'll get hung up in N, but only while putting around, like I normally do.
CONS: Don't get to ride as much as I'd like too - stupid work crap. My back hurts after about an hour, but I expected it, so no biggie. My knees start to ache after about an hour too, but that's an old injury from when I was younger. And lastly, the panties keep dropping around me, it's distracting - just kidding. I wish

Glad your enjoying the bike. Your back will get use to the position after a while and you will notice it doesn't hurt as much (give yourself a few weeks to adjust)
I just used Repsol synthetic oil (10W-50) for the first time and my bike shifts a lot smoother than it use to. I love this oil... too bad it cost so much.
Yeah, I think I just rolled about 850 miles today, and I notice now from when I first started riding it, it's gotten better.
I've learned good riding form from before, and it's carried over nicely. Forearms parallel to the ground is good for steering and bump absorbtion, and easy on wrists, but hard on the back!

yeah it takes getting use to, now i can ride for hours on straight...comfortable, just hate the buzzing @ 4500 rpm cruising on the highway...vibrates ur hands numb, so dont grip it....
