Default MIL light

i recently had my MIL light come on and i dont know why. i have a 2007 cbr 1000rr with about 2,500 miles on it. i noticed that there was a little oil seeping from the oil cap, not too much just a little. would that cause that light to come on? any help would be much appreciated. thank you.

The bike is trying to tell you something. If you can figure out what that is, you'll be well on your way to finding the problem. Here's the diagnostic procedure-

Well I had to do something, I couldn't bare the thought of some poor guy bringing his bike to a dealer when the bike has an onboard diagnostic system thatshould tell him the exactproblem. I avoid dealers like the plaugeand ifI can keep a fellow rider from fallinginto the clutches of a dealer, I'll be glad to help...
