long night (alarm system)
Well i had my scorpio alarm system just sitting on my desk for like 5 days, i was just playing with the little remote control instead of installing it (i was dreading it).. thought it would take me more then 6 hours or so but guess i was wrong. I sat down and read the instructions (first time i ever did that for anything) and made sure i knew what i was getting into.. well to get to the bottom of it, it only took me 4 hours and that's because I really didnt know the disassembly of the fairing (was reading the manual) so yea.. Plus i took off the right side fairing for some reason i thought i needed to but then i figured out all the wires were in the rear cowl GRRRR.. i'll tell you, i had some times i doubted myself like (umm how do i get the read cowl back on?) or those push-button pins or if everything will fit..
But I still need to put the anti hijack/ingintion system in but got 2/3rd of it done (the peremeter sensor and the alarm itself).. speaking of the peremeter sensor, such an awesome device.. i put it underneath my seat and it will know if someone is hoovering over my bike or walking by it - it chirps at them (it's not annoying like my camaro viper alarm) hard to explain...
the antenna i'm having problems with.. actually thought it was the ground wire at first haha (it's a wire) but i found out not to put it anywhere near metal, and have it exposed a bit.. so i kind-of popped it out of the rear cowl seat at the back. They say you need to have it as vertical as possible but very hard to do that without some punk like "A WIRE" and *YANK*. So i'm trying to figure out how to conceal it but get the best signal, or boost the signal more inside the compartment..
sorry if the topic was like wish-washy and non-grammerful, i'm very tired and just keep looking at my bed.. so i'm going now, but ill let you know how it does against people.

I'm thinking of getting one. Your experience is making me actually consider doing it myself now instead of getting it installed by someone else. Thanks for sharing.
got it from brad.. on the october special - it only set me back $325 i believe.. that was with anti-jack, and all the options too.. it took 4 hours, but i swear to god i feel so much better doing it myself because i got to learn how to disassemble my bike and i actually know what's going on with my alarm system. (where it's all at, what could go wrong) it was an awesome experience..
there was almost no modding to the bike (you do have to take off the tail-end fairing) and on your left side you do need to make the tail-light access hole larger.. (you will see the tail-light wire go from the tail-light thru a channel and then pass the hole to get out of the seat compartment)
I put all my wires inside my compartment, i didnt want them hanging out, so that's why i made the hole bigger.. let me get some pics of it and ill throw it up - it's fairly easy and actually a fun mod.. if i had money, i would get some more projects.

ok i took some pics... still got room for the insurance card and register papers.. and maybe fit some golves (if i re-located the MCM farer into the corner)
also alittle demo of the alarm system in my garage at midnight haha.. (I think i pissed off the cop next door when the alarm went off)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HB-DFuwSuko
the first alarm was permeter sensor.. it's underneath the rider's seat and detects movement - which is why it chirped at me when i got close (it also has shock sensors, it people are getting near)..
I turned it off after i chirped it a bit, then turned on Alarm w/o Perimeter sensor.. that's why i was able to sit on it, but once i even moved the bike a bit - well you heard haha (it was actually tilted, i picked up the bars and straighted it out. Which the sensor could feel it changing in angle and set it off) also got a shock sensor and a ignition sensor. (shock is where someone bumps into it, but really doesnt work - i have it on the highest and the only way to set it off is if you sit on the bike - maybe shock is the strandard alarm haha). And ignition, well if someone someone turns the key, it will set it off..
the pager can set the bike to silent mode where it will just page you and not set off the siren on the bike (so you can sneak up on the punk and break his neck before he can think twice) muhaha.
hmm negatives?... well one is the exposed antenna - you dont have to have it out, but i cant even set the alarm from the other side of my house if it's internal (damn 10,000 sqft houses... joking) and with it external - they say it should be vertical as possible, so i'm thinking about an antenna enchancer (at radio shack or something) or re-locate the wire to go underneath the bike instead of out the seat.. you know some punk will pull on it just for kicks and there goes your transmission to your bike - it will still set off but no commuications to you..
if i figure something out for the antenna, i will let you guys know.. but i dont think there is any more features you can put on this bike unless it's like scorpions comming out of the seat compartment to sting the purp..
