Default Just got an 05 blade - Mod questions

Apologies if this belongs in the Mods section,

Anyway, a couple of months ago I sold my F4i andyesterday put a deposit on a 2005 black blade with a shy over 1,000 miles on her.

The bike is as stock as they comebut there's a number of things I'd like to change andneed some advice on where to purchase these bits from and other suggested mods. In the past I got stuff from onlineparts.com but I was wondering if there were other places (that ship internationally) people can recommend.

1. Exhaust - thinking about a Yoshi RS-5 stainless (stock one is ugly and sounds pathetic)
2. Tinted screen - Standard size/shape, just darker
3. Rear stand *****
4. Rear fender eliminator kit
5. Rear seat cowl
6. Radiator guard

Also, has anyone tried to paint the front caliper brackets? I don't like that ugly brown colour, thinking of painting them black.

call brad or mary at superbikesupply.com
they dont list a lot of stuff on their website but they can get anything. ususally the shipped price is better than the competitions retail price.

Thanks Baxsom. I also stumbled across www.morepowerracing.com

Pretty competitive prices there too.

This was the cheapest price I saw on the Carbon Fiber RS-5 Yosh slip-on ($377)

Edit: That's stainless. Carbon - Add $97

It's misleading coz it's next to a photo of a carbon exhaust.

damn!

*I'd look into a PUIG windscreen....haven't got one yet, but hear they're good quality.
*As for the swingarm spools, I'd suggest PITBULL brand aluminum ones, because they last a lot longer than delrin ones and don't get chewed up as much if you use the stand a lot. It's an 8mm thread on those.
*Look into the HONDALINE OEM seatcowl. I'm planning to get one soon, and they fit really nice and body color matched perfectly since it's an oem part.
*I have the TARGA fender eliminator and it works great - but - since you're overseas, not sure if it would fit your licenseplates over there.

i would stay away from the AL swingarm spools. unless you take them off before you ride the delrin is made to get chewed up so that in the event of a crash the delrin takes the major damage. AL will not be as forgiving and will transfer more damage to the swingarm.

and for the record off and on the rear stand almost daily with delrin spools for 2 years now with no visible damage whatsoever so i am not exactly sure what you mean by chewed up on the stands. those are either crappy spools or a chewed up stand

Sorry, Dwhite, I agree on the delrin.

The Vortex swingarm stand is a good option for someone without spools or stand. It has both a fork for spools and a round reinforced rubber swingarm bumoer and is very stable used either way.

I think I paid around $95.00 for it. I needed another since I currently have three sport bikes in the garage amd only one stand.

Thanks guys. I found plenty of info in the modifications section and I didn't realise there were so many similar threads.

Definitely the Puig is the way to go. I had one on my F4i, it was a double bubble and actually had a magnifying glass effect and melted some of my dash. I'll get the standard shape, I like how it has the model branding on it.

I'm with dwhite645onthe Targa Eliminator Kit too. I much prefer it over the CW kits (for the 05 Blade) nearly everyone else recommends. I think it should fit my plate.
