Is bike theft really that big right now? I couldn't imagine what for besides maybe some joy riding?

ummm maybe for PROFIT? they either part it out or ship it overseas

Or get a clean frame off ebay for a couple hundred, swap it and profit up a couple grand.

My neighborhood is ok but on a major public transit hub. So on Sundays when they divert the trolleys, we get a lot of non-local traffic. Sunday nights everyone knows to watch their stuff
