Wrong rojer you can. You need to make sure you know what your talking about before you through your 2 cents in. It takes several months because they contact or try to contact the seller to get title and it cost a little bit but you can. I have donr this in the past and have sold bikes and cars for years...so once again get educated

wow. so someone says something that isnt EXACTLY what you would have typed and you attack them as a douchebag. NICE! shows you are a class act all the way. i do not need to justify my comments to you or anyone. i will provide you a reason this time though.

1. the guy has a bike that he bought from a guy that didnt provide him a title?
2. the seller never got a title, so he has never ridden it on the street.
3. TOOOOOO many things dont add up.
4. thieves do post on craigslist and also in the cycle trader.
5. i had 3 bikes stolen and found one guy trying to sell me my 900rr and had all the same excuses this seller did.

so if you are done passing premature judgement i guess enjoy the foot you have in your mouth.

 

1. this situation happens all the time. as long as a bill of sale is provided it is commonly accepted at most dmv's as a legal sale. you dont always need a title to sell a vehicle as long as you have the accompaning documentation.
2.no title doesnt mean you cant ride it. just means he hasnt got it registered in his name. ive rolled around in vehicles for months sometime up to a year at a time without ever transfering it in my name.
3. too many things dont add up? do you have all the answers ? didnt think so how can you say they dont add up. this could be a very simple situation the OP is making seem more shady then it really is (no offense to the OP just using this as an example)
4.i agree thieves do post on CL and autotrader so people need to be more EDUCATED an what to look for and what questions to ask so they dont assume a legit deal with a rough situation is a scam.
5. that is really unfortunate for you, sounds like you may be jaded to the situation. i appreciate your concern for the op but once again untill all teh facts are clear we cant say that this is a scam or that its a stolen bike.
6. my foot isnt in my mouth (i actually have 0% problem with admiting when im wrong) but ill call someone out when they offer an opinion without backing up their statement. that is exactly what i did with you . so i could keep calling you a douchebag but it wont matter cause you will still think you are correct and wether or not the bike ends up being stolen or legit it doesnt change my opinion of you.

yeah man if hes telling u ok to check the vin number before you buy it that sounds pretty fair that means he has nothing to hide check into it if it comes out clean go for it
