I DID IT!!!
heres something people never bothered to share with me. 1similar thingabout the liter bikeand the middleweight is the brakes.....(correct me if im wrong here guys) themain reason why people want you to start out with a smaller class bike is the power.... the power changes massivelythe brakes dont(well not to the effect of stopping faster.) i own both a 600 and a 1000. its waaay tooo easy to go waay tooo fast on a 1000. just as long as you show the proper amount of maturity and restraintyou wont have this problem. remember the quote "speed kills"
come on ppl you put an idiot on a dirtbike and he'll drop it.. weither it be at 10,20 or 100 he'll still find a way to drop the bike, doesnt matter what kind ofbike it isI would have to say its all about the driver.. ive had so many friends that go out and get new bikes and the first thing they do is drop the bike or drive into a stop sign or whatever you can amagine no matter what bike it is 600, 750 or 1000 and i have friends that ride forever with never dropping it, its all about the person the first time i rode a newer fuel injected bike from my F4 at the time i was in flip flopsshorts and a tie shirt and did just fine.. do i think the dude is crazy for goingright for the nuts?? hell yeah... but i still thinks its about the rider.. Respect the power but remember the bad as brakes will make up for it (except in a middle of a turn)so good luck
My oppinion is no matter how good you will be as a driver you must pass the CSS of Keith Code.
You will see a huge different in your capabilities....
It is not important how many years you drive motorbike. You can drive 20 years with the rong way...
Belive me i don't know if youhave allready pass these schools if you didn't go and you will thank's for the rest of your life

Wow!!! It has been over 2 years since...I DID IT. No regrets, although I have to admit I was a little nervous going with a 1000 for my first bike. Thanks to all of those on this board who both encouraged and cautionedme back then. Today I have thesame bike...well the first bike was stolen, but I immediately replaced it with the same model and color scheme. I love this bike and ride every chance I get. Great board, I haven’t been here in a while....to see this old post again brought back great memories. Ride safe everyone!!!
