Quick question. How much do you think I can get for my bike? Trade in on it sucks. The local dealership has an 09 Repsol, the only one they will get in this year, and I want it. My wife is cool with it as long as I can score a good deal on it. My 08 currently has 1800 miles or so on it. The only thing I will take off it in the sale will be the PCIII and that's it. I have an idea how much I want to sell it for, but want input to see if my thinking is reasonable. I have pics in my album as well as the ROTM pimp thread. Mods are in the sig.

Or should I just get new fairings and make a replica of the replica? My life is so complicated with so many tough decisions?

 

It all depends on the buyer and where you live. Low mileage 08's around here ranges from 7k-8.5k

 

I'd figure out how much it will cost for new fairings versus a whole new bike. Tax alone on a new bike costs almost as much as a new set of fairings. I'd buy new fairings and then sell your old ones to recover as much of the cost as possible.

 

I agree with AJTowers, buy the fairings. The Repsol is the same bike you have already. And he makes a valid point, you can recover at least 60 percent of your money back from buying new fairings after you sell your other ones.

 

Very true my friends. Last night my wife and I were looking at the cost for the fairings versus the overall expense of getting a new bike. It looks like that may be the route to go. She was quick to point out the nummber of mods I have as well as how much I would eventually spend to mod the Repsol. I would feel wierd turning my bike into a Repsol when it isn't. Where would I go about finding Repsol fairings? I have read the EBay ones tend to not have an accurate fit.
