How long?

Alright so my cousin is 5'3 130 lbs and he just bought an 07' 1K. He has only ridden a streetbike once and it was a 600. How long before he drops it or worse gets in a wreck.

At 5'3" I'm surprised he can touch the ground! Does he have blocks tied to his shoes?
In all seriousness, he's got the odds stacked against him. Maybe he'll be one of the lucky ones? Definately not a good choice for a 1st bike though, that's for sure.

Hello all
This is my first post here and Im 5'5 140 lbs and I have a 07 CBR 1000RR and I ride it just fine.I had the bike at Tony's Track Day and me and the bike are in one piece.
I love to ride and I like sport bikes and my size or someone telling me Im too short are going to stop me for riding.
So it must be your cousin cannt ride.

Very bad choice for his first bike. Big problem out here is 600's are seen as small bikes somehow, noone ever takes into consideration power/weight ratio. All the best of luck to him and hopefully his first get off isnt his last. Size isnt the issue here as much as riding experience.
Hello all, I am new to these forums and new to the bike community. I bought my very first bike which also happened to be the first one I ever rode about two months ago. I love my 1000RR and find it disgusting every time someone says that it is too much bike for a newbie, or how long do you think it will be before you put yourself in the hospital. If your cousin or anyone hurts themselves, what are you going to say? I told you so?
I put 2000 miles on my ride in the first month, you couldnt pry me off the seat. A bus pulled out in front of me on Semoran and I went down avoiding it. It was not my fault or my lack of experience that a huge bus ran a stop sign and caused my fall. Broken collarbone, road rash heals up and I put on my new plastics this week and I am out riding again next weekend.

5'3" ??? How the heck is he/she sitting on the thing? Just my humble opinion, but any bike you ride should fit you. . .if your cousin hasn't done do (and I hope they have), they need to install a lowering kit. Even if they can tip-toe the bike, the first time they have to stop where there is a depression, the bike isgoing over. And NO, a 1000RR is most certainly not too much bike for a noob provided they exercise a bit of common sense.
