THe 101 in the Pm in Phoenix will Bake you but the Pipe won't be the cause . What I do get that bothers me is a HOT right ankle. Trying to figure out which short boots will work best and have the lowest toe for shifting with my size 12s

Icon Motorheads....had the same problem, now its a non issue, plus they are vented very nice.....Canyon Honda has them, tell Jeff in parts that Jeff sent you by and he will hook you up with a great deal on them

atleast you don't have the humidity to go with it. my grandmother lives in arizona; when i spoke with her the other day it was 115 there and she said it felt cooler than it did when she lived here and it was 95.

but on topic, my seat doesn't get abnormally hot. the outside temp. is what's bad.

I see you 105 and raise you another 10 degrees....last friday it was 115 degrees here...

Trust me on this one...115 degrees is bake your brain, fry your skin hot...without humidity.....i have lived in humid areas too, and trust me the only way to describe how it feels to ride here during the summer is to stick your head in a convection oven....seriously, its too hot, only us looney tunes are out there riding in it.

here it is explained a little more..
1. remove stock fender if you have one(all that junk)
2.simply loosen exausht(take it out of the head don't need to disconnect the valve)
3.with a pencil trace a line as close as you possibly can to the tail.(DO NOT CUT THE HOLE on top in the middle of the heat shield you will need it, to keep it from ratling)
4.pull out the heat shield cut the line you made, you might need to mold it a little
5.you can paint it if you want and put it back.
I painted mines with a chrome spray paint big mistake don't do that paint it black which will hide it better and will blend in.
hope this helped you more.

As for what everybody been telling their right your right ankle will be a little hot, simply removed the heat shield on that part of the bike and keep the plastic covering it. this way wind will cool of the pipe keep in mind that i have a 2 brothers exausht it runs a little cooler.

My 06 1000RR puts out very little heat. Almost nothing compared to my 06 ZX10R and of coarse the 06 R1 is the absolute worst. I sold that bike with 400 miles on it after 2 weeks due to the heat issues. The CBR actuall runs a bit cooler than my 06 GSXR.

I'm in the Las Vegas area so I know something about heat: The seat doesn't get hot but the knee area does get prettywarm and find my knees getting a little sweaty if I keep them against the tank when riding in 85+ weather.
