Default How do you like your 1000?

Today my cousin and I were looking at bikes at a local stealership. They were pushing the 08 1000 on us. I told him bang for the buck he should step up and get it! I drooled over the maroon and silver. He liked the black and silver. Anyways give me some amo to throw at my cousin to convince him to get rid of that gixxer bike!

i've owned 2 of the three generations

previous 1k was a 04
current 1k is a 07

i have ridden a race prepped 08 on the track multiple days

i can honestly say that honda did a great job with the new generation......world of difference between the first and second vs this new generation....top notch imho

i cant give any street info on the new gen tho......i've only had limited street time on the 04 and 07 also

He rides an 06 GSXR 750 that he put about 10K on the millage. Before that he had a GS500. The Suzuki has been acting up lately and I told him to trade it in on a Honda. He always went Suzuki due to the power and popularity. I keep telling him that Honda makes a much more refined bike. I think I've started getting to him since I've had a lot of Suzuki's and a lot of Hondas and from personal experience Honda is far better (imo).

I went from an 05 gixxer 750, to my 05 CBR 1k, and I think it's an overall better ride. Besides the obvious power difference, it's more comfortable, and feels like I'm riding a much more solid bike. After having switched from Suz to Honda, I'll never go with anything else. Have him test drive the 1k. I'll bet he'll love it.

He did today and was drolling afterwards... Now he's got to make a decision...

I switched from an 05 gsxr 750 to the 08 cbr 1000 in september, and felt comfortable immediately. The riding position is different in that the lean to the bars feels less and the pegs felt higher on the cbr. I like that alot btw. The power is ridiculous! Really impressed. The low end lacks a little, but has an incredible midrange. Handling is light and manueverable for a 1000, very predictable and is easy to initiate into turns. (I would have broken it in more aggressively if I could do it over, however. IMO the first 20 miles are critical to break in ). For the price though, you can't go wrong!

my opion i think that gixers are cheap but they have good engines like how most motorcycles use allen keys gixers use plastic push pins that seems like you go to fast and the plastic will blow off
