Default Helmt Holder

I did this the first week that I had my bike (ad that was only a few weeks ago). I couldn't believe that Honda expected eveyone to attach their helmet to the bike using that odd cable setup. But there is an easy solution...

I simply took a dremel tool and made a cut in the metal piece located under the back seat. My helmet slides in with no problem and I am still able to put the back seat on without a problem. I haven't had a single problem wth this simple fix.

I am sure many of you have done something similar, but for those of you who havent, you should. The photo should be a good example.

I don't like the cable. It functions fine, I simply felt it was unnecessary.

This was a simple idea and easy fix for those that agree with me. For those that don't, by all means, keep the cable.

Nice tip...

The cable works fine for me too so I never messed with it any. Most of the time I carry my helmet or lock it up in a car.

Perfect idea for riding with one. What i was looking for when i ressurected an old thread that just started ish. But like i said this is great for riding and thats what i wanted because the cable thing flops around too much it scares me.

Pretty innovative. Allows the helmet to be pulled tighter against the bike when riding. (though, of course this is an extra helmet).......only gixxer riders ride with their only helmet attached to the side.

i need to check with my dealer i just got my bike a few weeks ago and could find no cables to speak of. the lack of a tool kit also was not a nice surprise. looked under the seat to find the owners manual and a spark plug socket? ok how am i gonna adjust my chain with this? i got tools for at home, but when out riding it smetimes happens to have to tighten the chain. i know i got a great deal on my bike but for the price honda could atleast give me the few tools i need to tighten my chain. and i am glad you posted this as i didnt seem to receive any helmet cables with my bike either.
