HEEEEELLLLP ASAP!!!!!!!
Okay So I need your guys input. I'm looking at buying a 2004 1000rr but it has been down on the right side. The frame has been scratched down because he didn't have frame sliders on it (see pic)!! This bike has $4400 for it. So I'm thinking Crazy Deal. Everything is straight and it runs great and I can cover most of the scratch up with new plastics. I was thinking i could grind it down to a smooth finish and then paint it black maybe stickers IDK????? It has a clean title.Let me know what you guys think that would be great. Thanks
Like Mga_ODEN said they will total one if it has frame paint scrathes or worse. I think you should pass because you can find many more RRs in better shape for not much more money. I gave $6600 for my 04 with factory red plastic and 10000 miles back in Jan.
Lots of things to consider. First, the tail looks original but are the plastics the all black with a red paint job? or are they aftermarket? Second, how many miles? did you ride it for a good minute? shifting up and down through the gears high in the rev, to see if you get a slip or a stick in the clutch? for 4000 i say do it. thats a liter bike at half the cost w girlie cosmetic damages. But this is for all to remember, on the o4 not sure of the 05 honda had a factory recall on the speedo, it starts you back at 0 miles on your tach. for your total mileage. So make sure you check previous owners and documentation of how many miles the bike had on it when previously purchased. i now have 1.5k when it should read 15,700
Pass up on it you'll end up spending more then you think and would end up costing you the same if not less to just buy a bike in good shape. I've been down that road before and wished I had just waited. Good luck.
