Default Good Price????

I have been looking for a CBR1000rr for a little while and I found one local. Its a 2004 black cbr1000rr with 5k miles, extended warranty, mapped power commander, yoshimura exhaust, braided brake lines, zero gravity windscreen, michelin pilot tire, bmc filters, low profile lights, integrated tail, extra brake lights on rear footpegs, fender eliminator. He is asking $8500. Is this a good deal or should I keep shopping around. I may be able to haggle the price a bit. Thanks in advance to anyones input.

well my personal thoughts are just like Kelly Blue Book. All that extra stuff doesnt raise the value of the bike. I would buy a new 06. Chattanooga sells new 1k for 8900. Just pay your sells tax when you get back to your state. Then you do the aftermarket stuff that you want to do. Or talk him down if you like the bike, but why pay $400 bucks less for an 04 when you could have the new 06 for a few bucks more. Read the post about the comparison of the 04/05 & the 06.

Good luck and either way you still getting a CBR 1kRR and thats sweet

not a ridiculous price... but like jaxx said you can get an 06 for a few hundred more and it's BRAND NEW it does have some nice mods though. and although it doesn't raise the book value it sure as hell saves you the time and $$$ from doing it yourself

A few forum members, including myself, have purchased bikes from them and they are what they claim. The only problem is that once you arrive they are very slow. Plan to budget four to five hours after you get there buying the bike. I called about an hour or two out to give them a heads up that I was on the way and to have the bike ready and it still took almost three hours.

After lookin around for a while I bought a 2004 Black CBR1000rr with 650 miles on it for a much cheaper price. I pick it up tommorrow night. I am going to put frame sliders on, but I have been hearing the No Cut style was not the best way to go. What type of sliders are the best for this bike?

I have vortex. I don't know that there is really a better slider. Most will do the job, and hopefully you (and I) will never actually need them. The reason I bought vortex is they have replaceable pucks. In other words, if one gets messed up, I simply buy a $15 puck and screw it in...IMO thats the only way to go

That was what I had on my GSXR. Also, seeing as this bike only has 650 miles and had been serviced a hundred miles ago, at what mileage should I take it in at.

If you want no cuts, go with the light tech's.

http://www.oppracing.com/products.ph...roduct&id=2202

They won't bust your waterpump like the Sho-guns.

Several people (racers) have crashed these with good success.
