Default Getting rid of the rear mud flap - question

Hi there,
I got excited this afternoon and took the rear mud flap off my '06 1000RR, along with the blinkers etc. I am planning on installing a fender eliminator and led turn signals.
But I forgot to verify if therear turn signals are running lights or not!![sm=smiley6.gif]
I know the front ones are...
Could anyone let me know, please?
Also, is the blackplastic "cover" right above thestock pipe (between the tail light and the pipe)necessary? Is it a heat shield or is it just there for a fit&finish purpose?
Thanks for your help!

Pat

Rears are blinkers only no running lights.
The rear running lights are with the brake lights.
What kind of F/E ya planning on getting?

Hi Kodiak1122,
So far, the one I have seen that I preferred is this one:
http://estore.websitepros.com/873942/Detail.bok?no=12
I have seen it onMgA_ODEN's bike picture and he PMed me this link. It looks pretty clean.
I am still debating between the one with the integrated blinkers or the one without them.
My plan is to install a set of Watsen Design 3 LED turn signals in the front, and maybe another set on the lilltle brackets that hold the side reflectors, right underneat the passenger seat...
Any suggestions?

Here is what I have: https://cbrforum.com/fb.asp?m=258981
Comp Werkes LTD. I still have the Stockpipes so I was able to keep the black plastic thingy.
I hear Watsens are good. I Have Protons, very bright.

Looks pretty good Kodiak1122.
I guess youdid not have to worry about adding a relay or anything such, since the turn signals are not led?
