Default geting a new 1krr

hey there, long time sence i have been here.
little back ground, so you know were i am coming form,
2004 gs500f 17,000 miles in the past year, 3 drops and one wreck.
1995 cbr F3 for 4 months out of the past year as well. sold it had many many problems (se past threads) got it for 500$ sold for 1800$

now, i am looking get back into a honda, but i have a few questions on the new 1krr. i see there are many new changes to the engine, frame, brakes ect...

but that realy doesnt matter to me. what i would like to know is....

1. how well does this bike hold up to every day riding. and then touring. the gs i have is far from being a goldwing, but is doable for a 1500 mile weekend trip. (keep in mind its still pain full on the ***, but it handles well) after all i love me some twistys

2. avg tank mileage. sure its not going to be the same as the 500 by any means but a good range is always nice, i am hoping for 130-150 or 35-45mpg

3. i keep hearing problems with clutch basket noise with honda's. what is this and is it realy a problem? or have they fixed

4. insurance... yes i know its a 1k but who is the lowest (look deep into cristal *****) right now i am looking at 1500 year fully covered good/bad/could better?

thanks again

My 06 rides well through town, it just gets kinda warm on hot days. You're going to hate the riding position. City mileage sucks, you'll get anywhere from 95 to 115 miles to a tank. Highway mileage is around 130-140 before the light comes on. Mine makes a little chatter but nothing serious. If you're in your mid to low 20's in age insurance is going to completely suck. I can only afford liability, full coverage is 6800/yr for me with only a improper turn violation. I'm 24..... So, besides that I ride the complete **** out of mine.

yea i for got to say i was 22, my ride is mosty hwy nothing but over 65 the entire way.

also, the out the door price on the 06 is 9,500$ with extended war i am not sure i can get him any lower on the price but i plan to try in any case.

as for the postion, i will get a set of clip ons that rise and swing back a little and that should be cheap for me (cycle gear employee)

I got an 06 and the handling is solid.
Riding to work, around town and a few twisties on country roads.
I found it is not as uncomfortable as expected, lower back and wrists seem to be ok but my knees start to get sore on longer rides.
Really depends on the condition of your body I guess.

I have gotten around 140 on one tank. Keep in mind this was during break-in.
It's a little less now that I am starting to open up more.

I have liabilty only w/ State Farm $140/yr I am 35.
Also have homeownwers, '90 FZR600 and an Odyssey minivan covered.
Matter of fact, I am planning on changing to full coverage on my CBR tomorrow.

You will not be disapointed getting the '06 1krr!!!
Good luck talking them down on price. More money for mods and cool gear.
