First hand better than Suzuki
unless your name is Mat MLadin the 3 horsepower really doesnt matter. Then again I can be wrong cause there seem to be alot of pro riders on this site at times.

Alright stupid question or just maybe a brain fart but what is a 520 conversion?

the 520 conversion is a chain and sprocket thing
the oem is 530
520 is a little smaller chain and sprocket
therefore saving mass and in the rotating assembly allowing you to use less HP just to get the wheel to turn
this transfers more power to the ground
as long as you get quality chains like the DID ERV3 or the RK you wont have any problems
you must also get 520 sprockets
you can get these in steel like oem or hardnened aluminum to save even more weight
if you go with AL go with AFAM or Sprocket Specialist
stay away from Vortek. they dont hardned their sprockets as well as others so it wont last as long

In 06 I too purhcased the following: 06 R1, 06 ZX10R, 06 GSXR 1000 and 750 and 06 VFR. Last week I purchased 06 CBR1000RR. It is the best handliing of the bunch and feels most refigned. Power is "DIFFERENT" than the others. It definately makes less overall power, however...the CBR fells like it maks more power sooner in the rev range. The R1 is flat in low and mid range but an animal on the top. TOO hard to control and not want I want on a street bike. I can not begin to tell you how hot the new R1's feel. THe ZX10 had more low and mid range then the R1, but not like the CBR. The Kaw has the strongest top end of all the big boys, but it is relatively smooth. The GSXR1000, which I have owned many, is a great all around bike. It is comfortable, smooth, and has good power down low, mid and high. But through the years and comparing it to my 00/01/04 GSXR1000, it aging hasa power curve more suited to higher RPM's. The 07 has lost even more mid-range and increased on top end power. I don't get it? Great bike, but the Honda has more useable power in the low/mid range where most folks spend the bulk of their time, especially on the street. I feel I can ride the Honda faster and use the power without feeling nervous or squidish. Just a great all around bike. Look at quarter mile times on the top 4 Jap bikes...all withing a second or so. Why would anyone want a bike that has a top end that hits like a 2-stroke dirt bike, white knuckled whenthe net result is marginal at best in quarter mile time/speed and acceeration numbers on the Honda's more refined ride???? Honda did their research. JMO
