Default Exhaust Valve... Needed or Not???

Hey all. Just got my D&D Exhaust slip on today however it didn't come with an exhaust valve. When I called Super Bike Supply they said it was an unneccessary part and to just go ahead and remove the cables. Is this true or where they blowing smoke and I should be making some more calls to get a tube with the valve. I'm not in CA so the emissions isn't an issue.

Not needed just make sure you mark the servo that controls the cabels and valve before you remove them. after removing the cabels return the servo back to it's original spot in order to keep your warning light from staying on.

Thanks but that came a little too late. I already have them off; I had to come to work so I'll finish the install tomorrow. I guess I'll crank it and try the ol' turn it till the light goes off technique. Thanks again though.

You do not need the exhaust valve. It's for noise emissions.

Anything Superbike Supply tells you is usually true.

The servo will reset itself the first time you turn on the key, so you don't need to worry about marking it or having it in the same spot etc.

With the stock ECU, you cann't remove/unplug the servo without setting of a MIL error.

With something like the HRC/Kyle Ecu, you can remove the unit completly without errors. Saves exactly 1.00lbs.

Thanks for the info. I feel better. I'll have it all back together tomorrow. I already cranked it once without anything just to hear it and it was a BEAST!!!! Got me all excited.... But it was still a little too loud.......
