Exhaust for 04-05
Hi,
Just bought me a black 1000RR. Nice bike but too quiet. I am looking to put on a new pipe. I have done some extensive research on this and have concluded on a couple of things.
1. Most (if not all) pipes make you lose part of the tail kit (not the fender). I kind of wanna keep it if at all possible
2. Most pipes (except D&D and Micron) lose the dual pipe effect that currently exists which in my opinion makes it look worse.
3. Most pipes that are oval have the tip pointing from the top of the oval to the bottom. When you set the pipe sideways the tip is to the left or the right (ugly)
Right now I am looking at possibly the Yoshimura or the D&D. As far as performance, it means nothing. Can't possibly fathom going any quicker but sound counts.
So please offer your thoughts...

have you considered laser? they make a dual outlet pipe too. I felt the same way when I got my bike. I wanted the dual outlet too but nothing out there is good enough or was too expensive so i eventually went with the devil magnum. It has a single outlet but at least the opening is big as ^$% and sounds deep loud and great.

Oden, I was wondering where you got the license plate holder.

Yoshimura's is fairly normal @ idle, but gets loud with the increase in rpm's. But it's not D&D - get pulled over/annoy the living $h!t out of your neighbours - loud. Very good workmanship & materials, too.
Arata, is supposedly coming out with a zorst that looks like the new one for the 600RR. It's similar looking to the Yosh piece. I heard rumours to this effect of around June sometime, but no garuantees.
I also think Mugen makes one similar to the Devil... not everyone on the block will have one of those!
Cheers

Thanks for the feedback. You guys have some nice RR's out there.
Here is the link to the Pipe Dyno test I was talking about.

I do not know the bike they are using but listen to it stock and then check out some of the other pipe sound clips on Dyno.
I am curious which ones you guys would pick.
