I just did my 1st oil change at 640mi today and I don't think it was low on oil at all. Only thing is that the oil seemed to be incredibly thin. I can't believe that stuff actually lubricates...

Have added a liter in the last 600 miles. Started keeping track of it when I noticed it was low after every ride. Wanted to know exactly how much it was using before I take it to the dealer. Seems to be getting worse. I'm hoping' that my dealer and Honda do me right.

There are great deals on these now but Honda is killing the resale value of the 1ks, with the deep discounts.

Got a chance to demo a new R1 and was not impressed. Don't know where all the hype was coming from.

ya I am not a big fan of the huge back end with the doube pipes I would much rather have the skinny back end of the rr. I would like to know if there is anything different for the 2010 model. Im hoping honda will address the situation and say that they have fixed it because I wont find out from riders for a while.

i checked the honda website, they dont have a msrp for the 2010. its going to be awhile for someone to report it if there is an issue. no one said anything about the 09, all i heard is 08. i hope its not the 09 also. i called honda to ask them if they have any info on the 08 burning oil and only 1 rep. that i spoke to said no. i also asked if they keep a database of complaints and if this issue was there, and he blew me off by simply saying no. so then i asked him if the 08 engine is the same as the 09, and he said no they are not the same. he told me the difference, i think he said the bore and the crankshaft or something like that.

Ya I have heard alot of people say that contacting honda on the phone gets you no where. But hopefully what ever they changed in the engine eliminates this problem. I really hope the 2010 bikes are better because from the pictures the new paint is already growing on me and I think it should be a really nice bike if it doesnt have all these mechanical problems.

they changed the 09's, i heard something about honda usually having 3 rings but in 08 they went down to do which is when they noticed the oil burning up so 09 they went back to 3 rings. 08's are **** my buddy just went through his 2nd motor and its barely broken in.
