Honda told me that " they've had no other complaints about this problem" which i know is a lie, because other threads on here say they've called Honda. . They told me to take to my dealer and have an oil consumption test done. . where they check the level have me drive a certain amount of miles and have them recheck it. . he said if it was low they would fix it

but the service depart said " its just breaking in " & they wouldnt do it now . . bullsh*t the damn bike has 4000 miles on it, i think its broken in by now. . the manual says breakin is only 600 miles. . i literally have to put oil in it everytime i put gas in it .. as i said in other threads ive owned at least 10 other bikes through the years all bought brand new & IVE NEVER HAD TO ADD A DROP OF OIL BETWEEN CHANGES!!!!!

& no, ive posted several threads on here, but no other websites

I had to add about half a liter the last time I checked it. This was the first time it was less than full. I even repeated the whole process to make sure I didn't read it incorrectly the first time. My engine is still in what I would consider the break in period. So is half a litre in 5000km excessive?

well thanks to you guys and others, they lost the business. im not buying the 08 or the 09 cbr1000rr, i read that the 09 is the same engine. also i was looking at some mods and alot of them say they are specifically for the 08 and the 09. so it has to be true. im going to call honda and see what they say. im going to mention the issue to them and im going to ask them about the 2010. i dont want the 07 because of the whp, not that its out of my league but when theres a newer model similar with more whp. i shouldnt say no more. damn that 08 cbr1000rr would of been a awsome deal and i might of gotten the 0.99apr financing. my 2008 r1 got stolen 09/26/09, good thing the 09-10 r1 are ugly. i might of not came across the cbr. i need something lighter, i had alot of close calls in traffic.
