Default Coolant leaking Fireblade RR-7

Hi. My blade has developed a leak from the oil cooler (at front of the motor beside the oil filter). It is dripping coolant when running at a rate of about a drip every 30 seconds, so fairly significant. There is a little hole on the cooler where the union meets the oil cooler-that’s where it is coming from. Not sure if it’s a weap hole, or if it’s something that’s just appeared. Any one experienced this or have any idea what the fix is? Initially thought it was engine oil after having a fairly scary loss of traction on a right hander at speed 😆😆

The remedy will be to replace the cooler, unless you know someone that can soldier/weld it up.

Hi 74demon. Thanks for responding 😊 yeah that was my thoughts. It is such a tiny pin hole I’m thinking I’ll chance getting someone with experience welding aluminium to have a go. Cheers 😆

In the mean time, I'd hit it with a wire brush, clean it with alcohol, then put some JBWeld on it. I sealed an oil leak from a crack in my 1995 CBR1000F left crankcase cover. Funny that I purchased the replacement figuring it'd install it when it started leaking again. It never did and I still have the part. I sold the bike years ago.

BTW, what's a Fireblade RR 7 ?
