Like fletchenv said, I recommend hot94z check with a dealer about the extended warranty on the charging system.

a stator is not designed to "charge" the system .. ONLY maintain ... hence it needs to see a serious DRAW... hence over 4k rpms before it puts out ..
but if you know so well ... i gueess you are a honda cert tech..

Im not sure about anyone elses, I've had my 1000RR and my wifes zx6R on a volt meter at idle and it was putting out 14 volts, at idle, 12.8 before start up, 14 at idle. A lot of the older systems didnt charge until higher rpms were met, but I think thats in past. Most newer systems charge right off idle.
but its a great idea to check with the dealer on the recall of the 04-05 model 1000RR's.
