Google 1st, then check with dealer for extended charging system warranty on the 05s.

bike battery does NOT get 'charged' unless its under load above 4000... so if you are letting it sit in your garage running you are hurting it

short ride around the block .. HURTS it

This 4000 RPM battery charging BS has reached epidemic proportions. A healthy charging system can supply more than enough current at idle to charge the battery. I measured it and plotted it on a spreadsheet. I'll be happy to send it to anyone who's interested. For the record... At idle my bike can put 8 amps of charging current into my battery. At idle!

Like fletchenv said, I recommend hot94z check with a dealer about the extended warranty on the charging system.

hey if thats what you wanna go with and go by .. good luck ..
glad you think its BS..

a stator is not designed to "charge" the system .. ONLY maintain ... hence it needs to see a serious DRAW... hence over 4k rpms before it puts out ..

but if you know so well ... i gueess you are a honda cert tech..

Im not sure about anyone elses, I've had my 1000RR and my wifes zx6R on a volt meter at idle and it was putting out 14 volts, at idle, 12.8 before start up, 14 at idle. A lot of the older systems didnt charge until higher rpms were met, but I think thats in past. Most newer systems charge right off idle.

but its a great idea to check with the dealer on the recall of the 04-05 model 1000RR's.

Stop pulling stuff out of your ***. You have absolutely no idea what you're saying. I know what I'm talking about because I've actually tested this stuff!!!

I have a degree in electrical engineering and a room full of test equipment. What the hell do you have Toptaz??? Google?

Go away and stop polluting this thread with meaningless technobabble...

Did they replace the rectifier/regulator unit too? I think in some cases the stator gets toasted because the regulator is bad, so both parts need replacement.
