The one big piece of advice I can give you is this...... If you are going to go with either of the RR's, make DAMN sure you KNOW you are ready for them. If you aren't, the 600RR will kick you in the ***. (The 1000RR is meaner and will kick you in the nuts.)

 

Since you have 5 years of riding experience already, you are more than able to ride both of them really well. The 1000 has more power up top and down low. With the 600 you'll have to wind it up high to get in the power band that it likes to really pull hard. Just get which one you like the best really, because by now you know the fundamentals of riding and what the bike wants to do and how it reacts. Either one will be leaps and bounds from your 250 though, so it will take a little getting used to.

and as far as maitenance on the bike just get a service manual and if u have any questions then post them up cause there r people here that r more than helpful in lettin u know how to fix whatever problem u have
